Pinterest has been a treasure trove of ideas for me when I’m trying to gather ideas. After our return from Disney World, I had a week to pull together crafts for the Easter egg hunt at my church, so it’s been very useful. Here’s my board of Easter crafts:http://pinterest.com/danasheehan/easter-crafts/ and some of my favorites. I try to find crafts that are easy enough for little ones and require little glue and no paint, and preferably no markers, because kids are in their Easter outfits and we all know how messy kids get!
Paper Plate Jesus In the Tomb Craft
I always try to find at least one religious craft for Easter Sunday. Bunnies and chicks are cute and all, but the day is about Jesus and his resurrection. I like that this Jesus in the Tomb craft is easy. I bought a pack of paper plates and I’m going to make some alterations. We’re going to staple the plates together, which won’t look as nice, but doesn’t require glue to dry. I’m going to print the image of Jesus onto labels so there will be no need for glue. I haven’t decided what I’m going to do for the stone, although I do have brown lunch bags that I might use.
Easter Chick with Hand Wings
How cute is this little chick? I love his wings made of hands. The link to the craft is broken, but it’s easy enough, mostly paper with Googly eyes (which could also be drawn on) and fasteners for the wings.
Hand Print Lilies
As you can see, I love hand print crafts. They give the kids something to do – trace and cut out their hand print – without being too complicated or messy. There’s lots of painted hand print crafts on my Easter Crafts board, but paint + Easter outfits = unhappy parents. These hand print lilies are easy and require little supplies – paper and straws or pipe cleaners.
Anyone Home? Clothespin Chick
I adore this craft! I’m attempting it using an egg made from paint chip cards and putting Jesus or a cross inside instead of a chick and changing the words to “He is Risen.” Hopefully it will come together, because I’m having a little more trouble getting it to work than anticipated.
